About Us
Nga Manganui o Te Hapori - Many Streams of Our Community Trust ( I AM Māngere & I AM Ōtāhuhu)
As local people active in our community, we noticed significant gaps but also opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives. We have been operating for several years and decided to formalise in 2020 as Many Streams of Our Community Trust – Ngā Manganui o te Hapori that supports and oversees entities of I AM Māngere, and I AM Ōtāhuhu.
Developed by the local community for the local community, its purpose is a critical connector – bringing together community contributors and community members to support engagement, upskilling, access to services, and collaborative opportunities so that everyone in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu can thrive. We are equipped to support small local groups with umbrella funding and fund holding services.
Our trusts name represents “many streams” that weaves throughout our community that we live upon, they all join up and eventually leads to one main outlet the moana. Many streams represent the many community champions, small grassroots groups and support entities based in our community, they all have one main common goal and that is to help create a thriving community.
